The
Financial Standards® Institute was organized as a non-profit
organization to help further understanding of best practices
in public company financial reporting, including the study of
many of the practical applications of generally accepted accounting
principles. The Institute is funded through the generous contributions
of individuals, corporations, and foundations that support the
Institute's goals of improving transparency, comparability and
integrity in financial reporting.
Through
the Financial Standards® Institute,
-
research
about accounting standards and financial reporting applications
is collected and made available to the public;
-
educational
programs on accounting and financial reporting are presented;
-
working
with industry groups, industry and sector specific methods
of reporting are researched and standards are established
for the benefit of the investor public, auditors and the corporate
reporting community.
The
Financial Standards® Institute is a non-profit, tax exempt educational
foundation under Section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code.
